Despite lurid speculation by the police and the public, precocious Evangeline believes her mother, Candice, is alive after being missing four years. It is believed she either went down with the sailboat she was last seen on, or that she ran off with her lover. Evangeline hires reluctant Dru to prove her mother did neither.
Dru traces missing children, not missing adults, but her interest in the case and the fact she spotted the stern of the sailboat in the lake allows her to accept a commission from a client she's dubbed Princess Pita (pain-in-the-ass).
The investigation takes Dru from Georgia's wine country to that of a wine boutique in North Carolina--with Lake for back-up when he's not running down murderers in Atlanta.
Can this be read as a stand alone or do I need to read the first 2 books?
ReplyDeleteEach of the Moriah Dru books can be read as stand-alones. The characters remain the same, but the plot doesn't require backstory or familiarity with former books.
DeleteThanks for the question.
